Slips are dormant cuttings from stems of existing small trees, typically 10 inches long and 5/16 to 3/4 inch in diameter. The EPS slip planting machine is pulled by a tractor and injects the slips into the soil at a prescribed spacing that is GPS activated, typically on a spacing of 5 ft by 5 ft. A six-row planter is the final stages of development based on an earlier four-row prototype planter. This planter will inject six slips per second and is designed to significantly reduce planting costs over the current hand planting method.
The patented EPS Slip Separator allows for continuous operation of the planter while carrying the largest loads in the industry. The means fewer stops, faster planting, and the lowest cost per tree for any planter on the market.
